Jack and Linda Lissauer, Honorary Hosts of the 2025 Fine Print Fair

Photo of Jack and LindaLinda and Jack met and were married when they were both working at the University of Chicago Billings Hospital, he as a Resident and she as Head Nurse of the Medical Close Observation Unit. Both appreciated the creativity of artists and had collected a few affordable art prints. They started choosing pieces together even before moving to Cleveland in 1974 and have continued building a collection of works on paper, focusing on 20th century American artists, to live with and enjoy.

In the decades that followed, Linda and Jack explored the various institutions and galleries that offered a rich overview of the art scene in northeast Ohio. Highlights of this period included opportunities to meet talented local artists and associate with other print enthusiasts through the University Print Club, led by Susan Trilling.  The Lissauers joined the Print Club of Cleveland in 1995. Membership offered not only an annual commissioned print, but also many activities throughout the year such as the annual Fine Art Print Fair, trips to the New York Print Fair with the CMA prints curator, and excursions to other cities to see exhibitions, print shops, and private collections. Annual luncheons and house tours engaged even more individuals, and curator tours and talks rounded out the educational offerings.  With other Print Club members, the Lissauers have expanded the CMA collection of prints and drawings through financial support and the donation of significant works on paper.

Throughout their fifty-plus years of collecting, the Print Club of Cleveland has remained a significant part of the Lissauers’ social and intellectual lives. The organization has opened doors to people, places and ideas that they never anticipated as newlyweds. Fine art is an integral part of their Shaker Heights home, where they raised four daughters and welcome 7 grandchildren.  Linda and Jack are pleased to support the club and the first-class 2025 Fine Art Print Fair.
