DESCRIPTION:On our visit to the Congregation Mishkan Or Museum in Beachwood\, we’ll join Katya Oicherman on a tour of the exhibition Memory: Moshe Gershuni. The project\, a collaboration with co-curator Matthew Garson and the Jewish Federation of Cleveland\, examines the work of the preeminent Israeli avant-garde artist Moshe Gershuni (1936–2017) through Kaddish\, his extraordinary portfolio of experimental prints. In Kaddish Gershuni’s images accompany the Jewish-American Beat poet Allan Ginsburg’s lamentation over his mother’s life and death\, embodying in their evasiveness the work of memory and grief. \nImage credit: Moishe Gershuni (Israeli\, 1936–2017).
