The 25th Annual Fine Print Fair
The Print Club of Cleveland celebrates two landmarks this October, the 25th Annual Fine Print Fair and the 90th anniversary of the Club.
The Fine Print Fair, Cleveland’s largest and most comprehensive exhibition of fine prints, begins Friday, October 9, 2009 with an opening night benefit preview and continues Saturday, October 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday, October 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Corporate College located at 4400 Richmond Road in Warrensville Heights (at I-271). The Fine Print Fair benefits the Department of Prints at the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) and is sponsored by the Print Club of Cleveland, a non-profit adjunct organization dedicated to supporting the museum’s print collection.
The ticket price of $10 ($5 for students with I.D.) covers entrance to the Fair both Saturday and Sunday. Hourly door prizes will be given away all weekend. The Corporate College café, Java City, will be open all day Saturday and Sunday and musicians from the Tri-C Musicians will perform throughout the weekend.

The opening night benefit preview, Friday, October 9 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., features catered hors d’oeuvres by Sammy’s, a cash bar, free parking and an opportunity to select great works of art on paper before the Fine Print Fair opens to the public on Saturday. "Our Prints of a Party Friday night benefit celebrates the 90th anniversary of The Print Club of Cleveland and our 25th Fine Print Fair," Mary Kay DeGrandis, Fine Print Fair chair, said, "Do not miss this opportunity to view and purchase an exceptional selection of prints, drawings and photographs from 14 knowledgeable dealers.” Ticket price for the benefit preview is $90, $95 if purchased after September 30, and includes readmission to the Fine Print Fair throughout the weekend. For reservations please call (216) 707-6779 by September 30.
A program of interest to both beginning and experienced print collectors will be held on Saturday, October 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Corporate College.
Dr. Jane Glaubinger, curator of prints at the Cleveland Museum of Art, will lecture on “Prints: The Multiple as Original.” This program is free and open to the public. Dr. Glaubinger will also be available to answer questions at the Fine Print Fair all weekend.
A special feature of this year’s Fine Print Fair will be a program at Corporate College on Sunday, October 11, which includes a 9:30 a.m. continental breakfast with the dealers and a 10:15 a.m. lecture. Stephanie Wiles, John G. W. Cowles Director, Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin College, speaks on “Dürer to Dine: Works on Paper at the Allen Art Museum, Oberlin.” For reservations please call John Coyne 216-707-6779 by September 30. Cost of the breakfast and talk is $20.
Due to its popularity, “Curator’s Choice” will return with Dr. Glaubinger’s selection of works from each dealer in varied price ranges she considers of exceptional interest and worthy of acquisition by the museum. Dr. Glaubinger will lead a tour of the dealers’ booths at 7:00 p.m. at “A Prints of a Party.” “Curator’s Choice” prints will be on view and available for sale throughout the Fine Print Fair. Dealers donate 10 percent of these sales to benefit the Print Club’s fund to acquire prints for the museum.
